Hearing Protection Selection
In industrial environment where noise control is not possible or too expensive to implement, hearing protectors
are an alterative method of protecting employees. The correct selection of hearing protectors is important to enable
the employee to effectively communicate with other employees. A low rated hearing protector may not adequately
protect the employee from hearing damage and conversely a high rated hearing protector may inhibit proper communication.
An occupational noise survey will determine the correct type of hearing protector for each environment.
